General properties

Aluminium-magnesium-silicon alloy, general purpose, whose main properties are high resistance to oxidation and corrosion in general, very good toughness both at room temperature and at low temperatures; mechanical strength is not very high, cold formability is good; fusion weldable.
Generally used in form of sheet, plate, rod and bar.

Ex stock 0, T6, T651 tempers are available; other tempers can be delivered on demand.

Typical applications

Structural components for which moderate strength and high corrosion resistance are required, welded parts and structures, trucks, shipbuilding, railway coaches, cryogenic components.
