Data sheet AA2011
General properties
Aluminium-copper alloy, general purpose, whose main properties are high strength, fair toughness, good resistance to atmospheric corrosion and good machinability.
Nowadays is not extensively used; it is the first modern aluminium - copper alloy developed by the aluminium industry.
Generally used in form of plates.
Ex stock the following tempers are available:
- T4 (sheets and bars)
- T451 / T452 (plates).
Other tempers are delivered upon request; sheets are manufactured also with cladding.
Typical applications
Machined parts moulding dies for shoe industry.
